This is a demo of my newest Axe game (a clone of the iPhone original). Swipe your finger across the keypad to "slice" (I recommend using index finger instead of thumb). Everything from the MATH row down (except for ON) is part of the "touchpad." Use MODE to quit (or hit a bomb!).

No points or drops are counted yet, and sliced fruit don't have sliced animations yet (I'm working on that), but bombs do end the game. (The screenshot isn't too accurate because WabbitEmu doesn't show contrast changes and I set the grayscale level too low.)

EDIT: Final version added today, May 23rd 2012. Enjoy!
Wow. I'm really impressed! When I saw the screen shot I was confused how the slicing was working, but that sounds like a really neat control scheme. I can't wait to see more!
That's some rather epic screenshot goodness you got going there Deep! Awesome job so far and I can't wait to see what else you've got cooked up on this game Very Happy

Will the falling bombs hurt you if they drop all the way? Are you going to have a way to neutralize the bombs (like slicing the opposite direction or vertically)?
That is looking cool! And its also a very nice idea to simulate a tuchscreen! Smile

Nope, it'll have some of the features of the iPhone game and no more Very Happy

EDIT: You can slice things vertically, but the bomb will still blow up.
can't wait for it to come out
looks great so far though
You can try the demo linked to in the first post Smile

I did not see that I will try it when I get home later today.
My whole family is obsessed with Fruit Ninja on their iPods. I'm excited to see this finished so I can show off how my 84+ is still hip.
I've always enjoyed the lower area of the keypad as a touchpad; I think I never released my demo from about five years ago where I used it for touchscreen-style mousing. This looks pretty cool, Deep; thanks for sharing, and good luck finishing it!
Any updates on this project? What still needs to happen as you move from demo towards a release?
The first thing I need to do (and what's taking the most time, by far) is creating animated sprites of each fruit sliced in half. I'm not really a graphics guy >.>

I'm sure the many fine pixel artists of Cemetech would be happy to offer their assistance.
This looks amazing. Guys at my church would beg to play it. Sounds like a fun game.

I guess I should ask Smile

Instead of working on those, I've added points and drop counts. The new download link is still in the first post.
Isn't it supposed to quit once you've gotten 3 X's?
There's no menu system to quit to, and the main engine's not finished yet, so final touches like that haven't been implemented.

Exactly this. Ironically, I was staring at the very first screenshot you released on here yesterday, Deep Thought, and both admiring it and wondering how it might be improved somewhat.
Finally, a project I can call done Very Happy I added a title screen, implemented a high score, optimized some stuff, and did some other tweaking. The download link's in the first post. Enjoy!

I'm definitely going to share this with my brother.
